Joseph Hardy Hovious. Son of John HOVIOUS and Nancy MARTIN. Sometimes called "Uncle Hart"; referred to as Hart Hovious in an 1897 issue of the Adair County News. Born in December 1851 in Adair County, KY. Married, in Adair Co. on 16 October 1879, Emma FISHER [Oct. 1859-1953]. By 1900, following the death of his father, Joseph had moved back to his parents' house, perhaps to take care of his elderly mother. Curiously, all three of Joseph and Emma's children were deaf mutes. Joseph Hovious died in 1925 in Adair County, Kentucky.
