Children:Katie Katera Katrina Hovious. Daughter of Peter HOVIOUS and Julie (Moore?). Born in Kentucky, Sep 1851. Married, in Knox Co. IN. on 18 Feb. 1872, Elias OWENS Jr. [b. Missouri, 25 Dec 1845]. The family moved to Texas in 1879. Around 1918 they moved to Copperas Cove. Elias Owens was in the Cotton Gin business and, as his obituary stated, he was "widely known throughout Central Texas, having been in the Gin business in this section of the state for .. sixty years. He .. had a long and varied career and at the time of his death was the oldest gin man in Texas. ..He was loved by young and old alike. He will be greatly missed..He always had a cheerful word for each one who passed."
Kate's husband Elias is varyingly referred to as Sr. or Jr., perhaps depending on when the reference is dated; he would have been Jr. while his father was still alive, and then Sr. after the birth of his last son.
Elias Owens died on 15 Apr 1934. Kate Hovious Owens died on 29 Mar 1935. Both are buried in Copperas Cove, TX.
