John W. Hovious Born on 30 Mar 1856, Smithland, Livingston County, KY. Son of James M. HOVIOUS and Lucy Jane PHILLIPS. John was a steamboat pilot/engineer on the Ohio and possibly Mississippi rivers. He was married, but the names of his wife and (possibly) children have not yet been discovered.

John W. Hovious died in Paducah, KY on 27 July 1916.
